Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (M/o MSME)
The Ministry of MSME is the apex body responsible for the formulation and implementation of policies and programs for the development of MSMEs in India. It offers a range of schemes and support mechanisms to promote growth and competitiveness.
Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC)
KVIC is a statutory body under the Ministry of MSME. It promotes and supports the development of khadi and village industries, providing financial assistance, training, and marketing support.
National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC)
NSIC is a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of MSME. It offers various services, including credit support, marketing assistance, technology upgradation, and skill development to MSMEs.
Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE)
CGTMSE provides credit guarantee to financial institutions for extending collateral-free loans to MSMEs. This scheme aims to facilitate easy access to credit for MSMEs.
Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)
PMEGP is a credit-linked subsidy scheme that aims to generate employment opportunities by setting up new micro-enterprises in rural and urban areas. It is implemented by KVIC at the national level and by state KVIC directorates and district industries centers at the state level.
Technology Centres/Extension Centres (TCEC)
These centers provide technical support, training, and consultancy services to MSMEs to enhance their competitiveness and productivity.
State Government Institutions and Schemes
State MSME Departments
Each state has its own MSME department responsible for implementing state-specific policies and schemes to support MSMEs. These departments work in coordination with the central government and other stakeholders.
District Industries Centres (DICs)
DICs are established at the district level to provide a range of services to MSMEs, including registration, financial assistance, infrastructure support, and marketing assistance. They act as a single-window service provider for MSMEs.
State Financial Corporations (SFCs)
SFCs provide financial assistance to MSMEs in the form of term loans, working capital loans, and equity support. They play a crucial role in bridging the credit gap for MSMEs.
State Industrial Development Corporations (SIDCs)
SIDCs are responsible for the development of industrial infrastructure, including industrial estates, parks, and clusters. They provide land, infrastructure, and other facilities to MSMEs to promote industrial growth.
State Khadi and Village Industries Boards (KVIBs)
KVIBs promote and support the development of khadi and village industries at the state level. They provide financial assistance, training, and marketing support to artisans and entrepreneurs.
